Veterans who served in the Gulf War period recognized by the VA from August 1990 to present service in Iraq or Afghanistan are entitled to the same veterans’ benefits as veterans who served in any other period of war. This includes pension benefits if disabled and service-connected compensation for any service-connected illnesses.
